Gloria Manor :: Photography

We had the pleasure doing a photo shoot for Gloria Manor's new seasonal menu, featuring Chiang Kai Shek's favorite home-cooked styled meal. Gloria Manor's culinary team, led by Fudy Chen, carefully selects fresh and seasonal ingredients from local farms in Kending to reduce ingredient transporation and keeping the hotel's concept of sustainability and "never eating something out of season".

Gloria Manor is located in the southernmost part of Taiwan and is surrounded by the lush greens of Kending National Forest under the administration of the Foretry Bureau. The building undertake a major renovation in 2011 by Gloria Manor, as the aged 1960s holiday home for the then-president Chiang Kai-Shek turned public guesthouse lacked maintenance for quiet some time. Restrictions on development have led to the land remaining tranquil and in harmony with nature. Gloria Manor continues that legacy and preserved the building with respect to the environment around it by using local materials and craftman.

This photo shoot further showcased Gloria Manor's mission of harmonizing with nature and using sustainable materials with diffused outdoor lighting and capturing the details of each ingridient in the dishes.
